Bummer

This is the second blog that I couldn't get to post last year (week) while at work. They seem to be going up now with no problem. hmmmm....

So I had a blog about half-written, and my computer gave me blue screen of death. I don't have the energy to recreate the blog, so the world will just have to miss out. Here's a little somehting to keep you occupied until my next blog though. It's one of the many brilliant pictures that my friend Blake Pellenberg took of Emily last year at the Capitol. He is an amazing photographer.

Dear God, Make the Pain End!

This is a blog I wrote last year (week), but couldn't get to post. Let's try again...

So I am at work right now. And I'm so bored that I've resorted to blogging to pass the time. My lunch plans fell through, so now I have literally nothing to do all day. I have a brief to edit, but really, who wants to be editing briefs when I could be...well, uh...sitting here complaining about not having anything to do?

A friend of mine told me my blog needs more pics, so maybe I'll pass the time posting pics of things that nobody really cares about seeing. Hmmm....lets see what I have here at work. Ok, here's one. This is of "the band," which consists of my son, David, my daughter, Emily, and my friend's son, Ben. They haven't worked all of the kinks out yet. For example, they all want to be the drummer. Who knows, maybe a band consisting exclusively of 3 drummers is the next hot thing. With mugs like theirs, they can't go too far wrong.

Woot.

So, I (oh, I mean Kelvin and I) have one follower on our blog now. I feel honored. Thanks Mark.

In other news, I put up a bunch of old pictures on my facebook page. However, I have one friend who doesn't have FB, so, Michelle, here's one for you:

I can't sleep

Ugh. It's 4:30 in the morning, and I can't sleep. So I am going to blog instead. I'll put some pictures up too, I think. This first picture is one of David, taken on Christmas day, which is also his birthday. David has so much personality that I am constantly amazed. He is far too much like me in many ways. He has a bad temper, for one thing. Of course I have learned to express my anger in ways other than wailing like a banshee, but we both have the same quick temper.

The thing about David, though, is that for a two-year-old, he seems to have mastered some emotions that I wouldn't have expected to see for years. For example, in the picture above, he looks like Joe Cool. That isn't just a lucky snap of the camera. He really thinks he is Joe Cool.

Here, we see David doing the thing he loves most in this world...cleaning. I have no idea why, but this kid is a cleaning fool. The happiest I've seen him is when I've given him a spray bottle full of water, and a rag, and set him loose on my kitchen floor. If CPS finds out, I'm in trouble, but until then, I'm enjoying it. I'm quite sure this is a phase.

Ok, enough typing. Apparently writing about my kids is enough to put me to sleep.

This is a test

So this is my first post on this blog. I don't really know what I'm doing, but what the hell, you have to learn at some point, right? I am going to use this blog to post pics of the kids, express my views on terribly important issues, and occaisionally vent (potentially more than occaisionally).

Here's my first pic. It's Emily and David back in October at their friend, Ben's birthday party. It's rare that we manage to get a good pic of both of them, so I was thrilled with this one.

Kelvin just looked over my shoulder, and noticed that I was busy creating "Kelvin and Carole's Blog." He wanted everyone to know that the views posted in the blog may not actually reflect his views, since he will most likely never bother contributing to it. Whatever. He knows that it's useless trying to have any viewpoint other than mine. :-)
